Camp Liberté is an independently run camp that focuses on providing children (aged 7 to 14 years) with moderate to severe skin conditions with a safe, confidence-building summer camp experience. The summer camp is funded entirely by the Canadian Dermatology Association and other generous donors, and is thus at no cost to the camper. In 2017, the camp hosted their first camper with Epidermolysis Bullosa!
Camp Liberté strives to provide the traditional camp experience to all participants. Activities change from year to year and include things such as swimming, canoeing, zip lining, fishing, crafts, and painting. The camp is staffed with dermatologists, nurses, and camp staff who are specially trained to attend to children with special needs. Both a physician and a nurse are available on call around the clock, making Camp Liberté a safe experience.
The camp is held at both eastern and western locations. The western location is in Bragg Creek AB and the eastern location is in Camp Papillion (Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez, Québec). For more detailed information, please visit: http://campliberte.ca/
For the 2018 year, preliminary camp dates are Sunday, August 5 to Friday, August 10, 2018 for the East camp and be Sunday, August 26 to Friday, August 31, 2018 for the West camp.
The deadline for camp registration is June 1, 2018.
